“The worst thing to feel is that as a photographer I am benefiting from other people’s tragedies. This idea haunts me. It is something I have to reckon with everyday because I know that if I ever allowed genuine compassion to be overtaken by personal ambition, I will have sold my soul.” - James Nachtwey, war photographer
Created by the Soulpepper Academy
What drives a person to dedicate themselves to documenting the
horrors of the world? When returning to the safety of home, how does one leave
those horrors behind? BLiNK is a new collective creation by the Soulpepper Academy inspired by the real life accounts
of photojournalists covering wars abroad and the turmoil that follows them
home.
