Luminato 2008’s historic kick-off takes over the city with 20 acts on 3 stages – don’t miss this jam-packed weekend of excitement for the whole family!Thousands of people will converge in Yonge-Dundas Square for Luminato First Night featuring the Count Basie Orchestra and Montreal jazz prodigy Nikki Yanofsky. The party continues all weekend with an all day Funk Festival at Nathan Phillips Square, Scottish Music Festival at Yonge-Dundas Square, Queen Street Celebration at Grange Park and OCAD, the huge portraits of Slow Dancing, and the chance to participate each night in TELUS Light on Your Feet - the city's biggest outdoor dance lesson!
Yonge-Dundas Square, transformed for the occasion by KPMB Architects and inspired by renowned set designer Michael Levine, will be Luminato 2008's centre of activity.
