Friday, June 08: Anna McGarrigle and Michael Ondaatje
Quebec singer-songwriter Anna McGarrigle talks with esteemed author Michael Ondaatje (The English Patient, The Cat’s Table) about Anna’s sister Kate, the art of female songwriting and of creative collaboration, the written word in song and fiction, and what it means to be a Canadian talent on the global stage. Followed by a complementary musical performance by Montreal pianist Tom Mennier.

Monday, June 11: Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon
Co-founders of Montreal’s cutting-edge Lemieux Pilon 4D Art, Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon discuss the multidisciplinary magic they’ve achieved across more than 30 original productions, including La Belle et la Bête: A Contemporary Retelling. Followed by a complementary musical performance.*

Tuesday, June 12: Ohad Naharin and Nicole Krauss
Batsheva Dance Company choreographer Ohad Naharin, discusses language as it applies to both dance and fiction with bestselling novelist, and Luminato guest speaker, Nicole Krauss. Followed by a complementary musical performance.*

Wednesday, June 13: Joe Boyd and Richard Flohil
In 2006, mega-producer Joe Boyd published White Bicycles, a dazzling chronicle of his ground-breaking work in the 1960s with such disparate artists as Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Taj Mahal, Fairport Convention, Duke Ellington and Sonny Rollins. Now Boyd sits down with music impresario Richard Flohil to discuss the rest of his illustrious career, including his production of Luminato’s Love Over and Over – The Songs of Kate McGarrigle. Followed by a complementary musical performance.*

Thursday, June 14: Dan Bergeron and Donald Schmitt
2012 Luminato artist-in-residence Dan Bergeron discusses art, architecture, the unique challenges of public installations and the role of creativity in shaping communities with architect Donald Schmitt of Diamond Schmitt Architects. Followed by a complementary musical performance.*

Friday, June 15: Stewart Goodyear and Rob Bowman
At this year’s Festival, pianist Stewart Goodyear is undertaking the incredible challenge of playing all 32 Beethoven sonatas in a single day. During his lunchtime chat with York University professor Rob Bowman, Goodyear will discuss the stamina required to complete such a momentous artistic feat. Followed by a complementary musical performance.*
