Luminato's Board Leadership
In 2003, Tony Gagliano and David Pecaut met for the first time over lunch at Grano restaurant. Over calamari, pasta, and wine, the two passionate city-builders found their mutual beliefs in the transformative power of the arts, and thus, Luminato was born. Over the next few years, the Toronto City Summit Alliance (now: Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance) conducted hundreds of consultations. By 2005, a critical mass of artists and arts executives, business and community leaders, and government officials had embraced the vision and added their ideas and commitment to the concept. In December 2005, the Government of Ontario stepped forward with $1 million in funding. Preparations for the inaugural festival began in earnest.BOARD MEMBERS
