SWEATSHOPPE
The effect is astounding: before your disbelieving eyes a paint roller is run across an ordinary wall, leaving in its trail not a single band of colour but a glowing swath of video.
Working at the intersection of art, music, and technology, SWEATSHOPPE – alias multimedia performing duo Bruno Levy and Blake Shaw – uses LED-equipped rollers, custom software, and video mapping techniques to create a unique form of guerrilla street art.
Stroke by stroke, city walls and alleys come alive with fresh coats of “painted” video, reverting immediately to their normal states when this extraordinary performance is over.
