They changed some of the restaurants up between the 2 days that is why people who went on Sat didn't see Caplansky's or Jamie Kennedy Restaurants (who was serving the normal order of his fries... priced at $5 which seemed too pricey.. I think they are normally cheaper at Don Valley Brickworks farmer's market...

One thing I would like to see in future years is more and cheaper drink options! $5 for a lemonade is crazy.
Pop and water was too expensive too.

And, I didn't see a water refill station (like one of those city truck things). THat is a MUST at an outdoor festival.

Was at this event on Sunday and enjoyed food from Caplansky's, they were definitely there serving. Had a great amount of African food from Somalia, good portions!

Hi Adam~
The President's Choice 1000 Tastes of Toronto event is rain or shine. There will be some tented areas in this section of Queen's Park North.

Jeff_B said: On June 18, 2010 10:26am

I am pretty sure all of the activities are on the north end of Queen's Park. So, getting off at Museum is probably closer. That is where they had the bands playing last weekend and I think for 1000s tastes they are closing off the street to the north.

does anyone know if its a rain or shine event? they're calling for thunderstorms tomorrow but i still want to attend!

Thanks so much, Bonny, appreciate the help! It sounds like it will be terrific this year. Sorry you can't make it.

@ Carol

If you go north on the University line from Union, you can get off at Queen's Park or Museum station. (I would probably get off at Queen's Park.) Should put you pretty close. Have fun! I wish I could go this year!

Really want to attend this event, but we live in Pickering. My husband has some difficulty walking any distance. Clicking on the map and 'get directions - public transit' we are told to walk to the GO train, get off at Union, and WALK to Queen's Park. This is not really helpful. We are wondering what is the best route by TTC from Union to get us as close to the actual location as possible?

This event is one of my favourite summer destinations. Last year I returned for the second day to get more of Susur Lee's "slaw salad" and the enormous, juicy salmon burger. I look foward to repeating the ecstasy at Queen's Park in a few weeks. See you there!

I attended last year's event at Harbourfront, and I had a phenomenal time! Very well organized, and the staff and chefs were incredibly friendly and hard-working. Oh, and the FOOD! I gorged myself on duck confit poutine, kobe beef hotdogs, and fresh oysters from Rodney's! Hands-down my favourite festival event last year! June can't come soon enough!!
