A free series of lunchtime tête-à-têtes with Luminato artists at the flagship ROOTS store at 100 Bloor Street West. Seating is limited, so come early!

Friday, June 5: Festival overview with Chris Lorway, Luminato Artistic Director; Devyani Saltzman, Curator, Literary Programming and Illuminations; Robert VanderBerg, Associate Producer, Visual Arts and Public Installations; and David Spelman, Guitar Festival Producer. Moderated by Graham Sheffield.

Saturday, June 6: Sandra Laronde, founding Artistic Director of Red Sky, discusses Tono, the group’s latest performance piece.

Sunday, June 7: Get the inside story on R. Murray Schafer’s The Children’s Crusade.

Monday, June 8: Tzipi Pines, managing and Artistic Director of Tel Aviv’s Beit Lessin Theatre and Avery Saltzman, Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company Artistic Director, talk about Yiddish theatre and Zisele.

Tuesday, June 9: “Setting Poe to Music”. Composers Mike Ross and Alexina Louie, Lance Horne and CBC host Tom Allen discuss the creation of A Poe Cabaret: A Dream Within A Dream.

Wednesday, June 10: Not-So-Guilty-Pleasures, presented by The Walrus Magazine. Summertime and the reading is easy. A detective story, a mystery, a sci-fi in hand. Join Editor John Macfarlane in conversation with writers from the summer reading issue.

Thursday, June 11: Playwright-performer Pierre Brault and director Brian Quirt discuss 5 O’Clock Bells.

Friday, June 12: An in-depth investigation of the dark and the mysterious with Jonathan Christenson, Artistic Director of Edmonton’s Catalyst Theatre and director of Nevermore.

Saturday, June 13: A conversation with the creators of Nederlands Dans Theater.
