Illuminations - Shadow Notes
Photographer and documentarist Danny Clinch has published his portraits of celebrity musicians in magazines around the world, from Vanity Fair to Rolling Stone. Andy Summers, best known as guitarist with the superstar band The Police, is also a superb writer and photographer. Ralph Gibson, his collaborator on the book Light Strings: Impressions of the Guitar, is an internationally honoured art photographer whose striking compositions range from the enigmatic to the formal.
Connected through their passion for the guitar and devotion to their Leica cameras, the artists explore themes of urban life through the musician's perspective. Mounted on freestanding structures, these evocative images provide the perfect visual frame for our celebrations in Yonge-Dundas Square.

"Clinch's unobtrusive style, his love for music and his talent have made him one of the most sought-after photographers in entertainment. His reputation for taking intense and profound documentary-style pictures is virtually unparalleled."
- Tim Donnelly, Asbury Press
"The inspired virtuoso whose haunting opening of ‘Every Breath You Take' still has the power to leave us breathless has, remarkably, the same innate skill as a photographer." - Clifford Thurlow
"...Gibson is as academic as he is artistic: brilliant and witty, well-read and worldly, thoughtful in his reflections on art and thorough in his knowledge of art history and
graphic design." - Graphis
