A World of Creativity - June 5-14, 2009

Children's Books and Illustrations

Children's Books and Illustrations

From beautiful picture books to challenging novels for young adults, come celebrate the best in Canadian kid-lit.

Join Luminato and the Toronto Public Library for a free series celebrating children's books at library branches across the city. Before and after each event there will be programs from maskmaking to illustration workshops which will bring the books to life!

Meet Jeremy Tankard, with his new book Boo Hoo Bird, and Marie-Louise Gay, illustrator of Please, Louise! and the Stella series. Learn why ants don't wear shoes from Musharraf Ali Farooqi, catch toothbrush artist Robin Muller (The Nightwood) and, for the first time in Toronto, meet B.C.'s Hiromi Goto, author of the young adult novel Half World.

Plus, all Festival long, pop into the Lillian H. Smith branch to see Robin Muller's original illustrations.

Meet the artists at a panel discussion. See Illuminations on the right side of this page.
